Graciele Oliveira

I come from the beautiful and welcoming country of Brazil, where I started my teaching career preparing high school students for college entrance while I myself achieved my Bachelor’s of Engineering. My interest in teaching developed at a very early age through watching my mom, also an educator, change the lives of her students through the power of learning. I actually hated Math in middle school, and thought I “couldn’t.” One high school math teacher literally changed my life course by taking me aside and making me believe I “could.” That has inspired me to do the same for others. I love languages (fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese) and music (I play the guitar and the drums, performing at my own wedding!).

Ten years ago, I came to the US and received my Master’s degree in Business. Upon graduation, I immediately started tutoring and have logged more than a decade and thousands of hours of private instruction. I’m currently enrolled in an advanced calculus theory class at Harvard University to gain more knowledge and amplify my expertise. I’m constantly learning to make sure that I can provide my students with the best tutoring experience possible. I view effective tutoring as the ability to translate complex topics into a language that anyone can understand. It feels great to see my students’ eyes sparkle when they grasp a concept that was once very hard to understand. My job—and my passion—is to make everything clear so that they can achieve all of their individual goals.
